New Mosque

Our Journey

From a Masonic Hall to a modern, eco-friendly hub for the community.

The former Masonic Hall building

A New Beginning

As the Muslim community grew, so did the need for a larger place of worship. After years of searching, the committee found a former Masonic hall. The building featured two halls, ideal for daily and larger prayers, plus rooms for a classroom, library, office, and kitchen. With ample parking, it was the perfect next step for our expanding congregation.

A Mosque for the Future

This acquisition began an ambitious project to create an energy-efficient, eco-friendly mosque. Our vision was to set a new standard for sustainable construction in the area. Key objectives included:

  • Improving energy efficiency
  • Modernizing with advanced technology
  • Reducing running costs and carbon footprint

Aligned with Scotland’s net-zero goals, we aimed for a 90% reduction in carbon emissions, inspiring others to adopt sustainable practices.

Realizing the Vision

The transformation is more than just a renovation; it’s about building a legacy. By integrating modern, sustainable technologies, we are creating a space that is not only welcoming for worship and community events but also responsible in its environmental impact. This project represents our commitment to faith, community, and the planet.
